About the web site

Welcome to the enhanced NYSHBA web site. We've changed over to a new system that uses some content management software called Drupal. This software will enable our members to contribute items directly to the web site on a timely basis. We hope that you'll become familiar with the new system and contribute items of interest to our users.

 One of the new things you'll notice is that to really utilize all of the features of the web site you'll need to use the Login/Register link near the top of the left hand column to create a user account for yourself. You'll be asked to provide the login name you'll use for the site and your email address. You'll get an email back with your initial password so you can log in and enter the permanent password you'll use on the site. When you set up an account you'll be able to:

1) Send and receive personal messages to/from other registered users of the site.
2) use the forums to participate in discussions with other registered users.
3) enter comments to items posted on the site.
4) add events to our event calendar
5) post items for reading by everyone
5) participate in new features as they are added to the site and more.

We invite our members to add to the web site any information about the various breeds of horses including horse show dates and times, meeting dates, times and locations as well as any other information that may be of use to our members. We also invite additions to our web links. To gain the ability to post this kind of information please contact our webmaster, Bob Arnold.
